Malcolm Lally

"My name is Malcolm Lally and my Grandfather was also in Stalag 8b. He was wounded at Dunkirk in the leg, which he lost and spent almost 4 years as a POW. He was repatriated in 1943. His name was pte. John(jack)Lally of the pioneer corps army No.13006468, POW No.30842. I don't know very much about his POW days as he like so many others never spoke very much about them. I have photo's he had of himself and others in the camp:"

I'm trying to locate the whereabouts of a hospital that treated my grandfather for his wounds an amputated his leg. . . . The hospital must have meant a lot to him because he carried the picture with him where ever he went. I believe it is in the Cambrai area of France."

Here is a picture of the hospital. If anyone recognises it please e-mail Malcom Lally: tj.mally@ntlworld.com
